Program Options
The MSM program was designed with the full-time on-campus graduate student in mind but the program is intended to be flexible as well. We do NOT offer distance learning, evening or weekend courses for the following options.
The options are Full-time, Part-time, Integrated, Concurrent and Joint. Please click on each option for details.
Part-Time Attendance Option
June and January start dates are available.
Students are allowed to partake in the MSM program on a part-time basis. MSM's are considered "part-time" if they are taking less MSM classes each module than the usual program of study. Part-time students are allowed to take a minimum of 2 credits per module as desired, finishing the degree when you have earned all 32 credits. Doing MSM part-time does not mean that courses are accommodated to a full-time work schedule since we do not offer distance learning, weekend or evening courses. Part-time MSM's curriculum will be structured based on the individual situation. Part-time applicants should have less than 3 years of work experience. Students choosing to do the MSM program on a part time basis should submit a written request as part of the application package. Part-time attendees must have flexible work schedules, supportive supervisors and be prepared for the commitment to significant group and team work
outside of the classroom that is part of the MSM program and learning experience.
Integrated (Combined) Degree Option (current UF students only)
June, August and January start dates are available.
The Integrated (Combined) MSM Option allows University of Florida undergraduates from any discipline other than Business a maximum of 12 credit hours of graduate course work taken as an undergraduate towards the Master of Science (Management) degree. Those credits can also apply toward free electives for the undergraduate degree. Provided these graduate courses are taken while the student maintains an undergraduate classification (e.g.: 4 JM), the Florida Bright Futures scholarship will pay tuition on graduate level course work at the undergraduate rate, obliging the student to pay the difference between the two rates. This is an attractive option because Bright Futures does not pay for any tuition once students move out of the undergraduate classification and receive the Bachelor's degree.
To Be Eligible For This Option:
- Students must meet a minimum of a 3.2 GPA and have an above average score on the GMAT or GRE to qualify for admissions for the MSM Integrated Option.
- Students cannot take MSM courses until they apply and are accepted to the program.
- Students that do not need 12 credits of free electives can take between 2- 12 credits from MSM in their undergraduate senior year only.
- Students must earn a grade of B or better on all graduate courses.
- All required undergraduate courses must be completed before students assume a position as a full-time MSM student.
- Official graduate classification will activate after the Bachelor's degree certification.
*Unlike other UF combined programs, we only allow students to start our courses in their Senior undergraduate year.
University of Florida Combined Degree FAQ
Concurrent Degree Option (current UF students only)
June, August and January start dates are available.
The MSM degree is a natural pairing with another Master's or PhD program. The University of Florida Graduate School allows for the sharing of a maximum of 9 credits when two graduate degrees are being completed by a student. This is defined as a "concurrent degree" path. Students can earn concurrent degrees with any graduate program combination. Some common pairings with MSM include Master's or PhD programs in Biotechnology, all Engineering disciplines, Journalism and Communications, Exercise and Sport Sciences (Sport Management), Education, Agriculture, Economics, Political Science, and Animal Science. Further, MSM provides the business pre-requisite knowledge students will need for other Master's programs in Business. Some past MSM students have completed concurrent degrees by moving on to programs in International Business, Finance, Real Estate, and Decision and Information Sciences.
Students must apply to each degree program separately. It is also possible to enter the concurrent degree track by applying to the second program after some coursework has been completed in the first program. Any student interested in a concurrent degree track should speak with an MSM advisor so a general timeline and curriculum plan can be discussed.

Joint Degree Option (current UF students only)
June, August and January start dates are available.
Professional Joint Degrees
Professional Joint degrees include students in pursuit of a professional degree (e.g. JD, MD, DDS, DVM, PharmD) along with MSM program. Joint Degree Paperwork must be filled out between the two programs.
Official Joint Degrees
Official Joint degrees have stricter requirements than the concurrent degrees and they have been previously approved by the Graduate School through a formal approval process. They allow for a greater number of shared credits, but do not afford as much flexibility as the "concurrent degree". Our specific joint degree options are listed below.
