These job descriptions give program candidates an idea of companies and positions appropriate for MSF graduates. Some of the placements resulted from the person's successful summer internship with the same firm.
Vishnu Lekraj has accepted a full time position as an Equity Analyst with Morningstar Inc. in Chicago, IL. He will be responsible for conducting fundamental investment research of an assigned group of 20 -25 publicly traded companies. Morningstar Inc. is a leading provider of independent investment research in the United States and in major international markets. The company offers Internet, software, and print-based products and services for individuals, financial advisors, and institutional clients. Morningstar provides data on more than 125,000 investment offerings, including stocks, mutual funds, and ETFs. Vishnu will graduate in May 2008 with a Master of Science in Finance degree. He previously worked as a Financial Analyst with HSBC after receiving a BS in Finance from the University of Florida in 2005.
Trevor Barrett has accepted Citigroup's offer to work in Citi Markets and Banking as a Global Transaction Services Client Delivery Analyst. The two year program is designed to focus on the development of personal and business skills, a well as product knowledge in order to full prepare an analyst for a career in Global Transaction Services. The Analyst is exposed to functional responsibilities, projects, and assignments. The Analyst helps advise clients on how to optimize their business practices and also implements the solutions.
Christopher Weber has accepted a full time offer as Trader Trainee with Louis Dreyfus Commodities. The company is one of the world's leading merchants and processors of agricultural commodities, including grains, oilseeds, sugar, coffee, cotton, rice, citrus, metals, freight, and emerging financial trading markets. At Louis Dreyfus Commodities, Christopher will have the opportunity to learn how the commodity market works. Over the course of a 12-month graduate training program, he will work side by side with senior traders and gain familiarity with the physical flow of commodities in both domestic and export markets. Christopher will also acquire an understanding of a wide range of functions, including knowledge and use of statistical information, supply and demand economics, and quantitative analysis. Christopher will graduate in May 2008 with a Master of Science in Finance. He previously attended Vanderbilt University where he graduated with a
Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History in December 2006.
Phil Reagan has accepted a full time position with Hyde Park Capital Partners, LLC. Hyde Park Capital is an institutionally focused investment banking firm serving the corporate finance needs of companies typically located in Florida and the Southeastern United States. With experience in the technology, healthcare, financial services, business services, consumer, and industrial sectors, Hyde Park Capital broadly represents outstanding growth companies in any industry. The firm typically works with companies on sellside and buyside engagements in transactions that range in size from $10 million to $500 million or more. Phil Reagan will graduate in May 2008 with a Masters of Science in Finance degree from the University of Florida. Previously, he spent three years with the JPMorgan Private Bank as a Senior Financial Analyst.
Michael Contreras has accepted a full time position as an Analyst with UBS Investment Bank. In July 2008 he will begin a ten week training program and then join the Municipal Securities Group in New York City. UBS is the leading global wealth manager, a top tier investment banking and securities firm, and one of the largest global asset managers. The Municipal Securities Group raises capital for state and local governments and public agencies in the US. As an Analyst, Michael will contribute to multiple financing projects at various stages of completion, in order to provide leverage for the Group's senior bankers to help sustain UBS's market leading position. Michael will graduate in May 2008 with a Master of Science in Finance after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Finance in May of 2007 from the University of Florida.
Abraham Skellenger has accepted a full time offer as an Analyst with Bear, Stearns and Co. Inc. He will join the Fixed Income Department in New York City in the summer of 2008. Founded in 1923, Bear Stearns is a leading global investment banking, securities trading and brokerage firm that has helped corporations, institutions, governments and individuals reach their financial objectives. The Fixed Income Department serves its clients through one of the largest sales and trading staffs in the industry. Abraham will graduate in May 2008 with a Master of Science in Finance. He previously spent five years as an infantry officer in the Army after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Information Systems Engineering in 2002.
Jason Lazarus has accepted a full time position with Intrepid Capital Management in Jacksonville Beach as an Investment Analyst working in both fixed income and equity, focusing mainly on high yield debt analysis. Intrepid Capital was formed in 1994 and currently has approximately $450 million in assets under management. The firm manages equity and fixed income portfolios for public and private companies, labor unions, endowments, foundations and high net worth families. Jason will graduate in May 2008 with a Master of Science in Finance degree. He previously worked as a Field Engineer with the Nuclear Energy division of the General Electric Company after receiving a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida in 2005.
Haiyan Wu has accepted a full time position as a Senior Market Data Analyst within Caledonian Fund Services in Orlando. Starting in January of 2008, she will be responsible for developing global operational processes, pricing and valuations of credit default swaps, equity swaps & contract for difference. Caledonian Global Fund Services is part of the Caledonian Group which was founded in 1970, and is a leading provider of specialized administration services to the alternative investment industry. Caledonian offers a fully outsourced front to back office solution to alternative investment managers of long short equity, arbitrage strategies, event driven, fixed income, multi strategy hedge funds, private equity and fund of funds. Haiyan will be graduating in December 2007 having earned both a Master of Science in Finance from University of Florida and an MBA from Hunan University in China.
Jarrod Schilling has accepted a full time position with JPMorgan's Private Bank Analyst Program. The JPMorgan Private Bank is a global wealth management leader that delivers the highest quality advice, service, capabilities, and products to ultra-high net worth individuals and their families, in 38 locations around the world. Beginning in July 2008 Jarrod will be placed on an integrated team to work with bankers, global investment specialists, capital advisors and wealth planning experts to bring in new clients and to serve existing clients by devising customized financial strategies. He will be tasked with using JPMorgan's proprietary asset allocation, wealth projection, trust and stock option models, as well as having the opportunity to speak to clients about the entire range of investment management and brokerage products. Jarrod will graduate in May 2008 with a Master of Science in Finance degree after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in May of 2007.
Kyle Morabito has accepted a full time position as a global markets analyst on the cash equity trading desk within Merrill Lynch's Investment Bank in New York City. Starting in July of 2008, he will be responsible for the development and execution of equity trade strategies for some of Merrill Lynch's largest institutional clients. Merrill's cash equity trading desk provides hedge funds, mutual funds and pension funds with foreign and domestic liquidity and market expertise. Kyle will be graduating in May 2008 having earned both a Masters of Science in Finance and a Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Florida.
Sam Matalon has accepted a full time position as an investment banking analyst in the restructuring group at Miller Buckfire in New York, NY. Beginning in July 2008, he will be responsible for analyzing companies in a wide range of industries, performing in-depth quantitative financial analysis and developing high impact financial and strategic presentations on overleveraged companies. He will be specializing in out-of-court, complex, company-side engagements on the side of creditors, equity holders, acquirers or other key stakeholders. Sam will be graduating in May 2008 with a Masters of Science in Finance and a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida.
Yaron Naymark has accepted a full time position as a capital markets analyst within Citigroup's Corporate and Investment Bank in New York City. Starting in July of 2008, he will be responsible for advisory and execution of complicated financial transactions. Capital Markets in Citi provides clients with real time market knowledge and technical structuring expertise that allows them to make optimal capital raising, hedging, and risk management decisions. Different groups structure, originate, and execute new capital raisings in the global capital and loan markets. Yaron will be graduating in May 2008 having earned both a Masters of Science in Finance and a Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Florida.
Jesse Rosenblum has accepted a position with JPMorgan Private Bank in New York, NY. Beginning in July 2008, he will be responsible for developing cutting-edge financial products for ultra high net worth individuals and families to help protect, manage and grow their wealth across generations. For the past 160 years, JPMorgan Private Bank has been developing into a global leader in wealth management services as it is adviser to over 40% of the individuals on Forbes Billionaires list. Jesse is to graduate in May 2008 with a Master of Science in Finance after earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Florida.
Michael Andreas has accepted a position with SunTrust Robinson Humphrey in their corporate and investment banking division in Atlanta, Georgia. Michael will be working in their debt capital markets business unit that specializes in a full range of sophisticated capital-raising solutions in the public and private markets, risk management, as well as sales and trading. Since 1991, SunTrust investment banking has raised over $37 billion in more than 450 public offerings and has completed over 500 merger and acquisition transactions with a total transaction value in excess of $40 billion. Michael graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a degree in both finance and accounting.
Carlos Barriga has accepted a full time position with JPMorgan's Investment Bank in Newark, DE. Beginning in September 2007, he will be responsible for leading Cash Equity and Derivative transactions as well as settlements in the Americas. Further, with a lead designation, he will be responsible for communicating and developing ongoing relationships with the front office in New York to ensure understanding of Financial Statements. JPMorgan Chase is a leading global financial services firm with assets of $1.1 trillion and operations in more than 50 countries. Carlos graduated in May 2007 with a Masters in Finance from the University of Florida after achieving a dual Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance with Summa Cum laude designation from Central Florida.
Dominic Casanueva has accepted a full-time position at Merrill Lynch's Global Private Client Group. Beginning in September 2007, his responsibilities will include a combination of financial advising and portfolio management. The Global Private Client Group advises individual clients and business on wealth management strategies and products. In the fourth quarter of 2006, the Global Private Client Group managed over $1.6 trillion in client assets and earned $3.1 billion in net revenue. Dominic will graduate in August 2007 with a Master of Science in Finance after earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida.
José Fornell has recently accepted a full time position as a Restructuring Associate with Alvarez and Marsal. Starting in July 2007, José will join Alvarez and Marsal's Turnaround Advisory division, which offers performance improvement, turnaround management, and corporate advisory services to clients ranging from international enterprises to middle market companies to public sector and health care entities. José's responsibilities will include addressing liquidity concerns, identification and disposition of non-core assets, development and review of cost reduction initiatives, and implementing cash conservation guidelines. José has earned, from the University of Florida, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in International Business. He will receive his Master of Science - Finance degree in spring of 2007 and has two summa cum laudes.
Sarah Gursky has recently accepted a full time analyst position with Wachovia Securities. Beginning in June 2007, she will be working within their Real Estate Capital Markets Division allowing her the opportunity to explore various career interests by rotating through such groups as Structured Finance, Tax Credit Investment, Structured Asset Finance, Real Estate Services, Commercial Real Estate Finance, Large Loan Group, Mortgage Origination and Placement and CMBS trading. Her responsibilities will include origination, underwriting, closing commercial real estate and analyzing prospective loans. Wachovia's Real Estate Capital Markets Division is ranked number one pertaining to top loan contributors of CMBS deals and CMBS Master Servicers. Sarah will graduate in May 2007 with her Masters of Science in Finance following one year with Morgan Stanley as a junior Financial Advisor and completing her Bachelor's of Science in Finance at the University of South Florida.
Nathaniel Johnson has accepted a full time offer as a Second Year Financial Analyst with Bear, Stearns and Co. Inc. In July 2007, he will begin a six week training program and then join the Public Finance department at Bear Stearns' headquarters in New York City. Bear Stearns has a rich history as a major Wall Street investment bank, consistently ranking in the top five firms in areas such as Public Finance and Fixed Income. As an analyst, Nathaniel will be assisting with structuring deals, designing presentations, and assisting senior bankers. The second year designation will allow him to take a more active role with bank clients and senior bankers and provides for the opportunity of promotion in as little as 12 months. Nathaniel will graduate in May 2007 with a Master of Science in Finance. He spent two years in retail banking and two years in corporate finance after graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2002.

Jason Klauk has accepted a full time position as an Investment Banking Analyst with Friedman Billings Ramsey in Washington, D.C. Starting in June 2007, Jason will join FBR's Financial Institutions Group, which services mortgage REITs, banks, thrifts, community banks, investment services, and specialty finance. FBR offers a full range of investment banking services including initial public offerings, secondary and follow-on offerings, and 144A institutional equity private placements. As an analyst, Jason will be assisting with structuring deals, designing presentations, and assisting senior bankers. In 2005, FBR was the #1 underwriter of U.S. common stock with a market capitalization of $2 billion or less. Jason graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2006.
Tim Koechlein has accepted a full time position as a Risk Management Consultant for Sunera LLC in Atlanta, GA. Initially founded as a spinoff of KPMG consulting, Sunera consultants provide companies with cost effective corporate governance solutions. Services primarily focus on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance but also include a full range of risk management and internal audit services. Tim graduated in May 2007 with a Masters in Finance after earning a Bachelors of Science in Finance from the University of Florida.
Ang Li has accepted a full time position with Morgan Stanley's Fixed Income Division in Hong Kong. Ang will first enter into an Analyst training program following which he will be rotated and eventually placed into one of the following business areas: Sales, Trading, Research, and Structuring. As an Analyst in the Fixed Income Division, Ang will be responsible for assisting in financial engineering and marketing efforts, developing analytic models and performing interest rate or credit research and monitoring market opportunities. Morgan Stanley is a global leader in Fixed Income products, providing individuals, corporations, and sovereign states around the world with a wide range of services. Ang will graduate in May 2007 with a Master of Science in Finance after having graduated with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Mathematics from the University of Florida in 2006.
Christopher Noth has recently accepted a full time position as a Proposal Analyst (level II) with Raytheon. Beginning in May 2007, he will be working within their Network Centric Systems Division. His responsibilities will include pricing and proposal analysis of new business and follow on proposals, preparing Price Review data for internal management review and proposal preparation activities to include Cost Volume Management and RFP compliance. Proposals are submitted to Prime Government Contractors and the US Government and include support to DCAA audits, and customer negotiations. Christopher will also be directly involved in company-wide financial tooling development. Christopher will graduate in May 2007 with his Masters of Science in Finance following graduate research and completing his Bachelor's of Science in Aviation Business Administration at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Abraham Ouano has accepted a full-time offer from GE Asset Management in the Financial Management Program (FMP) at Stamford, CT. The FMP program is a two year program with four rotations with structured training courses and job functions (ie. Equity Trading, Fixed Income Research, Risk, Client Investment Management Services). GE Asset Management is the investment management arm of General Electric and is one of the largest managers of institutional assets in the United States with a 78-year heritage of investment experience and more than $185 billion in assets under management. The FMP program has been recognized as a top training program by many sources including CFO Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and Fortune Magazine. Abraham is to graduate in May 2007 with a Master of Science in Finance after having graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance at the University of Florida.
Michael Peerson has accepted a position with Wachovia Securities in their Corporate and Investment Banking Program located in Charlotte, NC. In January 2007, Michael will have an opportunity for placement in a select business unit such as Mergers and Acquisitions, Leveraged Finance, or Investment Grade. Wachovia Corporation is the nation's fourth largest bank holding company and third largest full-service retail brokerage firm. Michael graduates in May 2007 with a Master of Science in Finance following his 2006 achievement of a Bachelor of Science in Finance in three years from the University of Florida.
Aashish Shukla has accepted a full time position as a Financial Advisory Services Associate at Deloitte & Touche. Deloitte delivers services in four professional areas — audit, tax, consulting, and financial advisory services — and serves more than one-half of the world's largest companies, as well as large national enterprises, public institutions, locally important clients, and successful, fast-growing global growth companies. Aashish will be a member of the Valuation practice performing business and intangible asset valuation. Aashish graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2004.
