For many accountants, the highest professional distinction one can earn is the designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In addition to meeting stringent educational and ethical requirements, CPAs must also pass a series of four examinations covering: Auditing and Attestation (AUD), Business Environment and Concepts (BEC), Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR), and Regulation (REG). Performance on these exams is also an important measure of success for accounting programs.

Exam performance for 2006 was recently released (December 2007), and the results show ninety-one undergraduate and forty-four graduate students from the Fisher School of Accounting took part or the entire exam during the 2006 year. The majority of the undergraduate students were actually 5th year students in the School's combined undergraduate and graduate program (the 3/2 program). These candidates are reported as undergraduate students because bachelors degrees had not yet been conferred.
