Ethics Team
Each year, eight UF undergraduate students are chosen to compete in a national debate-style ethics competition. These students devote many hours to preparing both sides of 20 ethical dilemma cases for the national debate.
2006 Team
The competition this year was held in Jacksonville, Florida on March 2nd and 3rd, 2oo6, with representative teams of undergraduates from more than 40 schools. This was the sixth year that the University of Florida and the Poe Center entered a team in the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl. The 2006 team made the best showing of the six UF teams who have competed. We reached 12th in the competition of 42 teams.
Our team of seniors was from a broad range of departments and disciplines:
Brandon Waraska: Senior in Finance
Caitlin Samenfeld-Specht: Senior in Scoiology
Adam Brown: Senior in Management
Erin Townbridge: Senior in Agriculture and Biological Engineering
Matthew Miller: Senior in Political Science
Raju Vyas (Vyas, Ambar): Senior in Political Science
Professor Gerald Horton of the College's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation coached the team. Professors David Hoch and Virginia Maurer helped prepare the team for competition.
