Franklin Fellows

Any concerns about the current image and dilemmas of corporate America right now? Interested in joining the MSM ethics group? What's in it for you?: free lunches, stimulating conversation, building relationships with professors and colleagues, and vital information for your business future.

With ethical considerations becoming increasingly important in business, the Poe Center for Business Ethics, here in the Warrington College of Business Administration, sponsors courses, fellows groups, programs, and speakers to promote serious discussion of ethical issues.

For several years the Poe Ethics Fellows program (MBA students) has met with substantial success, and a Franklin Fellows ethics group for the MSM students. The format of the Franklin Fellows Program will be primarily meeting expert and experienced speakers on business ethics topics. We will have four meetings each semester, two per module. Upon attending six of the eight meetings, you will receive a Franklin Fellows Ethics Certificate.

We look forward to meeting with you and getting acquainted. Bring your own ideas on issues important to you and your questions about ethics.

If you would like to be a Franklin Fellow or would like to make a reservation to attend a meeting, please contact Judy Brashear.

Students who participate regularly are recognized when they graduate with a pin and a certificate designating them as Poe Fellows.

The Franklin Endowment

Mr. Benjamin Franklin, a 1934 graduate of the University of Florida, made a donation in 2005 which allowed the Poe Center for Business Ethics to offer Master of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management (MSM) students an opportunity to participate in lively and interesting discussions with peers and speakers consistently. Theses speakers and discussions focus on ethics in the workplace and in the world.

The 2005-2006 Franklin Fellows have met ten times. Twenty-eight MSM students received Franklin Ethics Fellows Certificates at the final meeting on April 21st, 2006.
