Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Ethics

SIFE is an international nonprofit organization that works as a partnership between corporations and universities to teach young people about business fundamentals. There are more than 1500 SIFE "teams" operating in business schools in 37 countries. The UF SIFE team consistently ranks among the top SIFE teams in the United States, and placed first in the 2002-2003 competition. The Poe Center partners with SIFE to sponsor SIFE's program "Ethically Correct," a program of presentations in local high schools, as well as the SIFE undergraduate ethics case competition.

These programs reach more than 1700 local students and community members. UF SIFE students volunteered almost 1700 hours for projects involving business ethics during the 2004-2005 school year.

Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI)

The Poe Center occasionally partners with the Warrington College's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) to bring speakers to campus to talk with graduate students in the Poe program and CEI on "Ethics and Entrepreneurship." These late afternoon visits provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to talk about the ethical challenges they have faced along the way and to field questions from and lead discussions with students from throughout the college and the university.
