The Retail Society

The Retail Society at the University of Florida was founded in the Fall of 2006 as a student organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities to students interested in retailing. The Society focuses strongly on providing a network of knowledge students, faculty, and professionals to serve as a reliable information source about the retail industry. Membership is open to all majors in all colleges.

Purpose

The primary purpose of the Retail Society is developing a strong networking system for students interested in seeking internships and careers in retailing. This is achieved through constant contact with knowledgeable, experienced students and via information sessions which allow recruiters to discourse on their companies and opportunities.

Activities

The Retail Society brings in guest speakers from a variety of retailers to discuss their jobs and internship programs with the organization. The society is also an outlet for anyone interested in going through the job or internship search, providing students with information to help them to be successful.

The Society's Spring events will include:

  • March 27: Meeting, 6:30pm, MAT 120
  • April 14: Field Trip to The Villages - 9:00am - 5pm
  • April 17: Meeting, 6:30pm, MAT 120
  • April 18: American Cancer Society Service Project - Time TBD
**This is a tentative schedule, and all events are subject to change.
